Here’s a glimpse of Kevin Rose and his Digg (diggnation) crew who came to Chicago and in Chicago fashion we welcomed them.

The Vlog of a Screenwriter/Filmmaker who is also a Geek
I’m breaking from form here and have decided to do a non-video post. But don’t fret there will be videos.
For those of you who haven’t heard or read or seen, Veronica Belmont is no longer hosting Mahalo Daily. So Jason Calacanis founder of Mahalo.com has decided to have a American Idol like competition, Mahalo Idol, to see who will be the new host. A hundred contestants tried out. Then, in a The Bachelor format called The Bachelon, it was broken down to 12 finalist. And now it’s at the next step where it has come down to six finalist.
Here are the six Mahalo Idol finalists looking for the chance to be the main host of Mahalo Daily. All the ladies did a good job but it was one that I thought was different than the norm. My choice has been for Sarah Atwood.
Reason: She is real, natural, has the geeky cuteness, and she knows her craft.
I am looking for a change from the usual that I see on television. I want a host that will be part of the show and who will present the guest and subject matter well enough for me to think that the show is worthy to come back and see. It was an ability that Veronica Belmont was able to do successfully and one that I think Sarah will succeed at doing while putting her own flare to it.
Here are my choices in the order I like them, by host and not just subject matter:
Sarah
Need I say more
Andrea_Rene
I like her enthusiasm but I think it’s more about showing who SHE is.
Nadine
I think she would be good but I sometimes felt she was bored. Maybe didn’t know what to do while the guest answered her questions
Michelle
I like her look but I have a hard time believing her smile. Performing for the camera
Leah
She did a very professional job but I honestly thought it was too professional. She needs to try for the network news
Kristina
I wanted to like Kristina but I thought she was the most inexperienced one. I love her laugh but she needs to work on her nervousness.
It’s time to say goodbye to the Nokia N95 8GB and I wanted to share with you which podcast/video podcast/vlogs that I like to listen to and watch
I know I look so tired and worn and I’m slurring a little on this vlog. I’m coming down with a cold and it was really getting to me. I do apologize.

Here’s some info I thought was interesting. I also thought (and maybe it’s just my circle) that it was something that was somewhat overlooked because no one really talked about it. United Talent Agency and Spot Runner (online ad firm) has

joined forces to create 60Frames Entertainment, which had it’s launching on July 11th. The concept behind 60Frames is to finance professionally produced short form content on the web. I think this is exactly what many of the internet television producers and even some of the well produced video blogs may be looking for. The future of the independently produced internet tv/show providers and creators are looking really bright these days. I’m happy

Chris Brogan has decided that he is going to do a bunch of things over this summer, all social media projects. He has started the first project and has made it a collaborative effort. The project is the 100 Comments Challenge and I was invited to participate. Click here to see the fruition of the idea. The question that was sent to me was:
How do we figure out what grabs Internet video viewers and apply it to our own work?
I gave it much thought and finally replied with a answer that reflects my experience and the interactions I have had since the social media network has began to fast forward in a positive way with a burst of new internet shows and social network sites. Now I offer the challenge to you. Stop by the 100 Comments Challenge, read what I had to say about it, leave your answer, and then post the challenge on your blog/website/webpage whatever you may call it. Let’s help get this ball rolling so we can get ourselves ready for Chris’s next challenge.
