There’s a time for fun and games

I found something you can do to pass the time when you’re bored. It’s a computer game that is reminiscent of the old Atari and Coleco days. It’s called the N Game. It was developed by Metonet Software. It’s real simple and somewhat hilarious. You’re a ninja and the object of the game is to run like hell and avoid being hit. If you don’t succeed…I’ll let you see for yourself.

It’s a simple format and it’s also freeware. So get your ninja gear ready and try to stay alive.

Our President “Dubya” has been a unique piece of work over that past two terms, and I’m sure their is a plethora of opinions that Americans and most definitely ever other country has when regarding his leadership. If that’s what you want to call it. But this is not a political website and I do try to keep my rants to a minimum.

-SIDE NOTE- I was thinking of having a link to a separate page that would be just for my opinions on the different issues that are upon us today. If you feel you would be interested, let me know. There would be a comment section for any reply you would have and hopefully it can spark good conversation as well as help each of us to learn something.

Okay I’m back. As I was making a reference to our dubious Prez, I found a picture that I thought was the true meaning when some say that a picture speaks a thousand words. I think it says alot about how people feel in America when it comes to our President and possibly the thought of those in other countries. And with that I’ll leave it.

The Presidents Bush say, “Come on down to New Orleans for your
end-of-summer vacation! The Crescent City has no electricity, so the
gumbo’s all rotten, but these new canals have some of the best fishin’
we’ve seen!”

Just for the record this picture is false. It was manipulated and put together. Yes it is a sad commentary on our respect for the Prez. Then again I think you have to earn it to get it. But… wasn’t you quick to believe it?

Finally

It seems help finally came and took the victims of Katrina away from the once vibrant city of New Orleans. And though there is an effort NOW to get everyone out, in the back of many minds will always stay the memory of what New Orleans once was. I unfortunately never got a chance to get there. And I have to admit I had no plans in the making. But it doesn’t take away from the hurt I felt from the hardship of so many people.

New Orleans, know we are out there and trying everything we can to help. Before I go back to my original format, I wanted to dedicate this post by giving a message just from me. Though I may be a small individual in a big world where many do not know me let alone my website, I still want to show some brotherly and sisterly love that the victims of Hurricane Katrina may need.

The Task Continues

In my last post I mentioned a website that was being posted by textamerica.com that displayed photos of the missing due to hurricane Katrina. The site is MissingKatrina.com and I have decided to put a flash link of those photos above my photos to the right. Textamerica has also posted a photoblog, SafeKatrina.com, of those who are safe and their whereabouts. That flash has also been linked.

These photos are sent by those who are aware of textemericas efforts and does not list everyone, but everything helps. Once again, let’s keep the victims in our prayers and whatever help you can offer I’m sure would be appreciated and needed.

Doing My Part

The Katrina devastation has left many with a lost of words. There is a lot of confusion as to why it is taking so long for our government to help and evacuate the victims of such a disastrous event in America’s history. I unfortunately cannot answer these questions or feel comfortable enough to even direct you in the right direction as to where you might be able to find them. I’m trying to understand myself.

Today as I was coming home from work I was slowed down by men standing in the middle of the intersections. As I looked closer I noticed it was the Chicago Fire Department. The fireman where in in the intersections with a firemans boot collecting donations for a Katrina fund. After I gave what I could, I looked in my sideview mirror and saw something that made me proud of my city. There was a sea of hands waving out their window trying to do their part to help. It was a moment out of this horror that put a smile on my face.

I have decided to stray away from my technology and art theme to try to inform as many as I can about the situation that is taking place. On KATC 3 Acadiana’s News Channel website they have given fast facts about Katrina and her destructive path. Hopefully it will help with giving an understanding of what this hurricane has destroyed.Katrina_damage2

I also like to mention that someone who is a member of the Textamerica community, the website for my Moblog and Photos, decided to do their part and help those who are searching for family members. It seems to be in partners with NBC news and someone has mentioned in a digg.com comment area under the link to this website that someone has been helped already. So go visit this site if you are searching for someone. Know that I am praying for as many successful reunions as possible.

Katrina Roars

A few days ago Hurricane Katrina ripped through New Orleans and parts of Mississippi with devastating anger and took the lives of so many. There are so many even now who have yet to be discovered and accounted for. I decided to use this moment to help bring recognition to this disaster. To let those who may visit my site see what this devastation has done to the Big Easy and the surrounding counties. Katrina_damage_1

Here’s a link to a Yahoo news site that has a slide show of the aftermath of Katrina. It’s something we should be aware of so we can use it to remind us to pray for those who are suffering. Maybe encourage many to send some kind of aid to help them get back on their feet.

I send my prayers to the victims and hope we as a people can unite throughout to let them know we’re here to help.

Note: If you decide to send aid, do research on the services you may use. Make sure they are reputable and legitimate. Such services that are helping would be The Salvation Army and American Red Cross.
