I can so relate. I’m a twitter junkie myself, and yes it is very frustrating when you’re following someone who isn’t following you back - you can’t even Direct Message them.
Have you tried any of the twitter clients on you computer (rather than the web interface)? I’m fond of Twhirl (http://www.twhirl.org/)

I agree. We’ve all become close in some weird internety way through twitter. I love it!
I am a twitteraddict. I have a twitter problem. When I’m at work all night long I cherish those 5am tweets like they were just for me. Like you, I never got into IM chat or anything. Seemed silly. Just call. But Twitter is different.

hey twitter buddy!! i think its CRAZY that you get all your updates on text.. i tried once to get them in IM via gtalk on my blackberry.. and it was too much!!! and i know you follow/are followed by a lot more people than me… so big props to you… and AGAIN i hope that ONE DAY someone from twitterberry will update it… so my curve will be completely my most perfect device in my collection…
