So Impressed

Hey everyone I’m back with a new flash-based movie by someone I just recently presented to you. It was only a few postSmile_3 back that I praised a flash-based filmmaker named Aleksander Wasilewski. I chose his
film Hanged Man’s Elegy back in April because I was so impressed by his storyline and artwork. For those of you who may have visited his website, I hope you came across this next film that I believe he created before Hanged Man’s Elegy. The film is titled Smile. I think it is so powerful, I won’t even let the cat out of the bag trying to explain it to you. Stop by and check it out and keep your eye on this guy. I think there are only great things to come.

Have you ever heard of Mox? Neither have I. So, when I lucked up on the website, with it’s design Mox_2and layout, I was really intrigued. Mox is short for MobileXpression. It’s a gallery of posts and of photos that come from all around the world. Instead of letting advertisement dictate what you see as everyday life, Mox suggest that we take charge and show what it is we see and think. What makes this so nice, is that it emphasizes the connection of everyone throughout the world. Not that there aren’t other communities who do this but this website does in a unique way to call out to those on a global level. Get you poetry, photos, letters, whatever you want to share and let everyone know what it’s really like in your corner of the world.

New Idea

I decided to try something new for the website. I am still emphasizing on media and technology, but I want to try and introduce a short film, commercial, flash animation, any media/art along these lines each week. I have been doing that somewhat but my goal is to make sure one of the topics in my post is focused on one of these media forms.

Bb_2 This week my choice is one that I recently discovered a friend of mine, Eric, was aware of as well.
The website is angry alien productions. I fell in love with this website after viewing just one of the 30 second parody. Their whole premise is to re-enact a well known movie with a ensemble of cartoon bunnies (what an original idea, at least from what I know). If you want a laugh, stop by and definitely check out the Brokeback Mountain parody. Click on the picture to the left to see the flash.

Overheard_5

Here’s something you writers will probably love and everyone else should find hilarious at times.
If you ever wanted to overhear what everyday people might say on the streets of New York, go to the website Overheard in New York: The Voice of the City. And you thought you heard everything.

If you have any suggestions on films, commercials, etc, let me know. I will definitely make sure you get credit. Also leave feedback on the ones you like as well.
