A Small World

In 1975 Nikon introduced the firstMicro_1 Small World competition.
This competition is aimed at bringing attention to world photography through the
microscope. This competition observes the beauty and intricacy of a world that is
seen through a microscope lens. Well, if your interest is peaked, the 2005 Nikon Small World Competition is now open for entries. So, for those of you who dare use their eyes to see
the beauty in a world many of us take for granted, the deadline for the contest is April 28th 2006. I look forward to seeing the winners.

A few days ago I came across this article I thought was so promising. The
topic was on blindsights.

“Blindsight allows
people to use visual information they get through their eyes even though they
have no consciousness of the visual experience, said Christopher Mole, a
postdoctoral fellow in philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.”

It is said that blindsights cannot be determined in a lab,
but just the fact they are able recognize it merits congratulation in modern
technology. Check out the article, maybe you’ll also be impressed.
