Coolmobiles

Automobile ads have become the new place for musician to get there music heard. This makes the commercial much more appealing to the viewer. You find yourself humming it in school, work, while you’re cleaning, everywhere and you’re not alone. But I have heard many people who are trying to explain the song not remember what automobile commercial it came from, only remembering the song. Well I have found two commercials. I’m not sure if they are just Internet ads or if they have been on television as well but they are totally awesome. They use the same concept of mechanics but yet they are different in pace.

Honda_adThe first commercial is a Honda ad called “Clog” and it’s about two minutes. Take the time and check it out. It starts up once you click on the link. As you watch it, you will find yourself more impressed by the ad then the music.

The next commercial is a Citroen C4 ad. A friend of mine, Rod, emailed this to me. I’m not familiar with the car, it’s possible it may be more popular in Europe and you will need Quicktime to play it. But the ad is so cool. You might even find yourself trying to learn a move or two. Oh yeah, and there’s good music.

1st Weekly Post

Wow, it’s my first weekly post. It seems weird considering I was doing it every other day, but at the same time I have been so busy with school work. Anyway I found this article awhile back on digg.com. It’s something that sounds so unbelievable but also so hopeful for the future.

In Australia scientist have discovered what they call the “miracle mouse”. These animals “can regenerate amputated
limbs or damaged vital organs, making them able to recover from
injuries that would kill or permanently disable normal animals.”
Now these mice regrew toes, tails, and even hearts. This is amazing and so sci-fi. What the possibilities this can bring. Someday humans may be able to regenerate their own organs replacing lost or deformed limbs. Now we just need to get the test out of the labs and into the real world.

Now for a little art and travel mixed together. Here’s a website for those of us who cannot travel as much as we would want.Th_valthorens VirtualSweden.se is a website with panoramic views of different places around the world. You can see the Louvre in Paris, Grönskär lighthouse in Stockholm, Valley of Kings in Egypt, and that’s just to name a few. You’re able to see a 360 degree view of different well know places throughout different countries. You think you wanted to travel before, wait until you visit this site. Stockholm here I come.

-SIDE NOTE- I was thinking of having a link to
a separate page that would be just for my opinions on the different
issues that are upon us today. If you feel you would be interested, let
me know. There would be a comment section for any reply you would have
and hopefully it can spark good conversation as well as help each of us
to learn something.

Birthday

Hey everyone sorry it’s been a minute, but I went on a little birthday vacation. Actually I call it that, but what really happened was my classes started. Even though it was my birthday, this was the second week of school. It took me a minute to try and arrange my time for three class, the fact I work full time and I’m working on my blog. Plus I may be working as an assistant editor part time for a friends website. It’s new to me but I’m also excited about it. I get a chance to blend in my geek knowledge with my ever growing editing skills. I have come to the conclusion that I will begin to do my blog every week instead of every other day. I know , I know. You all will miss me but anyway I’m back. Look at it this way. Now you really will anticipate what website I will showcase.

Since I used part of this post to announce my plans for the Expluniv_3website for the next few months, I will only have one link today. I’ve chosen “The Elegant Universe”, it’s a new PBS NOVA program that is hosted by Dr. Greene that now can be downloaded and watched on the computer. It follows the awesome but mind-boggling world of string theory. Sting theory is as Dr. Greene explains:

“Electrons and quarks, little dots that you couldn’t’t divide any further,”… “Now we imagine that those dots are really little filaments,
little string-like filaments of energy that can vibrate.” Like the strings of
a violin, string-theory filaments “vibrate in a wealth of different patterns,
but instead of hearing them as notes, we see them as different particles. So
an electron is a string vibrating one way; a quark is a string vibrating a different
way.”

As one website that explains the program puts it, “One of the more intriguing things about string theory is that it implies more than four dimensions, possibly as many as eleven! But the other dimensions are so small that we can’t perceive
them. Imagining more than four dimensions is one of the challenges of describing the theory. But “The Elegant Universe” uses numerous graphics to paint a picture that’s easier to understand. Viewers will even get to visit the Quantum Café, where they can experience life at the quantum level, where ice cubes can pass through glasses.”

It may be a little advanced but I think if you find it interesting enough, you may find yourself reading on your own time to understand this complex but fascinating theory.

There’s a time for fun and games

I found something you can do to pass the time when you’re bored. It’s a computer game that is reminiscent of the old Atari and Coleco days. It’s called the N Game. It was developed by Metonet Software. It’s real simple and somewhat hilarious. You’re a ninja and the object of the game is to run like hell and avoid being hit. If you don’t succeed…I’ll let you see for yourself.

It’s a simple format and it’s also freeware. So get your ninja gear ready and try to stay alive.

Our President “Dubya” has been a unique piece of work over that past two terms, and I’m sure their is a plethora of opinions that Americans and most definitely ever other country has when regarding his leadership. If that’s what you want to call it. But this is not a political website and I do try to keep my rants to a minimum.

Okay I’m back. As I was making a reference to our dubious Prez, I found a picture that I thought was the true meaning when some say that a picture speaks a thousand words. I think it says alot about how people feel in America when it comes to our President and possibly the thought of those in other countries. And with that I’ll leave it.

Asshole_and_father_1
The Presidents Bush say, “Come on down to New Orleans for your
end-of-summer vacation! The Crescent City has no electricity, so the
gumbo’s all rotten, but these new canals have some of the best fishin’
we’ve seen!”

Just for the record this picture is false. It was manipulated and put together. Yes it is a sad commentary on our respect for the Prez. Then again I think you have to earn it to get it. But… wasn’t you quick to believe it?

Awesome

While visiting a fellow mobloggers website I came across a site that I thought was totally awesome. Have you ever saw a sci-fi film where the geek or tech guy or girl always had a cool program they were working on? You would see a design of an android or some alien body form. Then there’s whenever they hovered over a link, you’d get this cool digital sound as if you knew they were entering something secret and forbidden to the public. Well I think I found a place for you to experience the same technology.

Bionic Systems is a German based creative studio founded in 1999 by Doris Fürst and Malte Haust. It is a cross media graphic design company that has grown to have clients of big named companies such as Nike and Red Bull to name a few. The only complaint I would have about the site, is that the model screen is too small which then effects the text size. But I think it’s worth visiting. Take your time and hover your mouse over the page to find the links. And, if possible blast those speakers so you can get that feeling of being in a sci-fi film of your own.Love_in_vein

This next site is Inetfilm, a website community that features independent short films in the likes of Atom.com and ifilm.com. The feature I’m linking is of a short film that has very little info. But I really enjoyed the story. The music was great, and the only info provided, and the acting was pretty good. Love in Vein is approximately 7 minutes long and quite entertaining. And the ending might surprise you. Check it out.
